Fanta conjures up 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' branded sodas ahead of movie's release
By Trey Weston
It's incredible to think that in 1988, Michael Keaton stole the show as Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice. The juice is again loose, as the second installment will hit theaters in less than a month. But that's not the only thing spooky being summoned in the near future. Fanta is collaborating with Warner Bros. Pictures to allow brave souls to get a taste of the afterlife.
Coming to stores in the US next week are Fanta sodas that are seeing a bottle rebrand ahead of the new movie.
"Fanta® is summoning Beetlejuice with his own Limited-Edition Fanta® Haunted Apple x Beetlejuice Beetlejuice flavor, with the packaging showcasing the titular character himself, played by Michael Keaton. The new product offers a unique apple flavor expression and the iconic black-and-white striped design associated with Beetlejuice, available for a limited time.
- Coca-Cola Press Release
The full Fanta flavor range will receive limited time makeovers featuring the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice characters, including Orange - Astrid (played by Jenna Ortega), Strawberry - Lydia Deetz (played by Winona Ryder), Pineapple - Delia Deetz (played by Catherine O’Hara) in the United States."
Although most are simply bottle rebrands, they serve as unique collectibles. I know I will get the Strawberry one, and grabbing the new Beetlejuice one is not a bad idea either. Plus, each bottle will feature a QR code granting access to physical and digital experiences.
As for the new Beetlejuice movie, it might not be a bad idea to go back and watch the first one. And what better way to do so than to crack open an ice-cold Beetlejuice-themed Fanta while watching from the comfort of your home? I don't know about you, but that sounds like a great way to spend a day off after a long work week.
Will you be purchasing this new collab? Are you excited for the new Beetlejuice movie?
