Fish is back on the menu at Popeyes just in time for the Lenten season
Although we “love that chicken from Popeyes,” you know what else we love? We also love their fish. And while we may go to Popeyes for their chicken and sweet tea, they also know what they are doing when it comes to seafood.
Just in time for the 2024 Lenten season, Popeyes has brought back not only their fish sandwiches, but shrimp is on the menu as well. And while our local restaurant has had the shrimp on the menu for at least the last month, it has now been joined by the delicious fish sandwiches that help keep things fresh all Lent long.
However, what makes Popeyes so exciting during the seafood season of Lent is the fact that they go all out for their customers. That means six menu items to choose from including a Surf and Turf item, two different fish sandwiches, a shrimp tackle box, and two different popcorn shrimp options.
Popeyes brings back their shrimp and fish sandwiches for seafood season
As Chew Boom reports, both the Classic Flounder Fish Sandwich and the Spicy Flounder Fish Sandwich are back on the menu. Both sandwiches are described as follows: “Made with premium Flounder, marinated in authentic Louisiana herbs and spices, dusted in a southern crispy coating and fried up golden brown. Served atop a warm buttery brioche bun with barrel cured pickels.” However, the Classic Flounder has tartar sauce, while the Spicy Flounder uses a spicy mayo instead. Both sandwiches are delicious though, so no matter what you enjoy, spicy or not, these are a great option.
Then we have the shrimp items on the menu. For the Shrimp Tackle Box we are looking at eight pieces of their butterfly shrimp, a biscuit, a side, and a drink. It is a complete meal and one worth grabbing. In terms of the popcorn shrimp we are looking at either a 1/4 pound combo or dinner option. The dinner option comes with a side and a biscuit, while the combo also includes a drink.
Finally there is the Surf & Turf option which features the butterfly shrimp and two chicken tenders plus the iconic biscuit and a side. It may not work for everyone this Lenten season, but it is a great option for anyone looking for both chicken and shrimp as a meal choice.
We really love Popeyes and what they have on their menu, and we also appreciate the fact that we can head on over and get either fish sandwiches or shrimp this seafood season. Obviously, this fish forward menu will only be available for a limited time, so if you want shrimp or fish sandwiches from Popeyes now is the time to get them.
