Crime Scene Kitchen, the baking competition show that pits teams of bakers against each other to not only find out what was made in a kitchen but also bake it and bake it well, is returning for a third season. I could not be happier for this news.

I don't know how they did it, but the show's creators somehow mashed a mystery/Clue-esque idea with a baking competition show and it totally works. It worked in season one and it worked really well in season 2. I can't wait to see what they have in store for season 3.

When we can expect to see season 3 is still anybody's best guess, but based on when we saw the last two seasons and how long it typically takes for them to film, you can probably start looking for it in late 2024 or the first few months of 2025.

For those who haven't seen the show (where have you been??), Crime Scene Kitchen first splits the contestants into two groups: the amateur bakers and the professionals. They compete within their groups and then eventually mix together to see which team is the ultimate baker and detective.

Crime Scene Kitchen will return for season 3

Teams are usually two bakers, and they are given a set amount of time to look around a kitchen in which some dessert has been made. There are a number of clues that are meant to tell them what they need to make, but there are also fake clues as well. They must put everything they find together to figure out what to bake. And that can be the hardest part.

Many teams have failed because they took too long to figure out what exactly they were going to bake. Once the time is up, they must present their final product to the judges: Chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp.

To win a round, you not only have to impress the judges with what you made, but you also have to make the correct item. Even the best bakes can lead someone to go home. That's what makes the show so tricky and fun to watch. It also doesn't hurt that Joel McHale is the host and is hilarious.
