Mountain Dew Baja Blast is one of the smartest moves Taco Bell has ever made. Partnering with Mountain Dew for this exclusive flavor has proven its worth over and over again.

In celebrating 20 years of partnership, Taco Bell and Mountain Dew have been introducing new items from Bajaversary. Previously, we talked about the Stanley x Baja Blast collaboration which didn't go exactly as most of us had hoped for.

Regardless, Taco Bell decided to continue the trend by releasing the hotly anticipated Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato. This is exclusive to TB Rewards Members and can be purchased at your local Taco Bell for $3.99. With that price tag, you probably have a certain idea of what you're getting.

Think again as Taco Bell shared an image of the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato and to put it simply, it's a lot less than what we imagined.

Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato seems a bit pricey

If you grab this at Taco Bell, it'll cost you just under $4.00 without tax. Depending on where you live, the tax will vary. However, the thing that has been confusing most of us is why the price tag is so large for something so small. If the picture featured above wasn't enough to illustrate it, then the only way to prove it is by buying some if you're looking to spend that much on a small cup of gelato.

In looking at the Taco Bell app, you can see exactly how much you're getting which is a 3.6-ounce container of gelato for $3.99. Described as "A citrus-lime, MTN DEW BAJA BLAST flavored gelato," this feels like the ultimate picture of 2024. Not only is the gelato being heavily marked up but it's also an "exclusive" and is incredibly small. You're basically paying a dollar per ounce of gelato which sounds utterly crazy.

Even so, most are going to pay the price for this exclusive frosty treat from Taco Bell. Most of the time, fans get behind the latest LTO from Taco Bell but this time, it just feels strange. Maybe this is due to inflation or fan demand but charging that much for a little cup of gelato is absurd. Of course, this thought is confirmed by fans who have tried it as Eat This, Not That spotlighted general fan disappointment over the release.

To be completely transparent, I refuse to try this limited-edition drop from Taco Bell because of the price. I can't justify paying $4.00 for a cup of gelato when I can go to the store and get a gallon of ice cream for the same price or even, cheaper. While it's a fun idea for those who love Baja Blast or just want to try the latest from Taco Bell, this feels like Taco Bell is pushing the limits.

If you tried it though, I'd love to know if Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato is worth the price or if fans should skip it. Make sure to let us know, Guilty Eaters!
