Krispy Kreme kicks off their new reward program with a free Original Glazed Dozen

Krispy Kreme is revamping their reward program with a push they’re calling the “most generous rewards in doughnut history.” We’ll let you be the judge of that, but the new program is kicking off by offering a free Original Glazed dozen and even more treats now through May 11.

“While other brands seem to be making it harder on loyalty members, we’re making Krispy Kreme Rewards easier and even more generous,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. “We take a lot of pride in being generous to all our guests, and that’s not changing. By becoming a Krispy Kreme Rewards member, you’ll experience even more sweetness.”

If you aren’t familiar with the previous iteration of the rewards program, it wasn’t bad, honestly! You would receive a point (called a “credit”) for every doughnut, dozen, or coffee purchased. Once you reached 12 credits, you would receive that specific item free. It was basically several very specific punch-cards, in app form.

Now, points can be applied to any reward, which arguably makes more sense and brings the doughnut chain in line with other, similar rewards programs. Points are earned 10 per $1 spent, and can be redeemed for any items in store. Additionally, there are “exclusive and personalized perks, including a free sweet treat on their birthday, opportunities to try limited-time products for free, and double points celebrating their anniversary month.”

But you’re probably wondering about the free dozen doughnuts. Anyone who is currently a member of Krispy Kreme’s rewards program can get their free dozen today, only (April 30). However if you’re a new member, you can get the free dozen any day between now and May 11.

Additionally, Krispy Kreme is rolling out a dozen – you get it – days of deals, including even more free doughnuts and coffee. That promotion will wrap up May 11, 2024.

A cursory glance at my Krispy Kreme app provides a little more information on the new breakdown of rewards:

150-250 points:

Original Glazed Doughnut (150 points)

Classic Doughnut of Choice (250 points)

Hot Chocolate (250 points)

Classic Coffee (250 points)

400-800 points:

3 Count Original Glazed Doughnuts (400 points)

Speciality Latte (400 points)

3 Count Classic Assorted Doughnuts (600 points)

6 Count Original Glazed Doughnuts (800 points)

1200-1700 points

6 Count Assorted Doughnuts (1200 points)

Original Glazed Dozen (1400 points)

Classic Assorted Dozen (1700 points)

Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a points level for “sit at the end of the donut conveyor belt as hot doughnuts fall one by one into your mouth,” but I’ll assume that’s coming in the next update.
