Krispy Kreme x Dolly Parton doughnuts review: Ranking my top 3 favorites

Everywhere you look these days, you see Dolly Parton – and as you should! The latest place fans have spotted the singer-songwriter is at Krispy Kreme. The country music icon has blessed foodies with delicious (and beautiful, just like Dolly) doughnuts. 

It’s no secret that anything Dolly Parton touches is sure to be a hit. So if you want to exit this page before reading our review because you know these doughnuts are delicious, we completely understand. Go and enjoy! But if you want more details and my thoughts on the three doughnuts I sampled this morning, read on.

You can enjoy these doughnuts by ordering the Dolly Southern Sweets Dozen, which includes 12 doughnuts. Here's what you get: Two of each Dolly doughnuts and four Original Glazed. This sweet box will cost you $20.49 (depending on your location), so it is definitely on the higher end of the budget.

If you don’t think you can take on a dozen, Krispy Kreme also offers the 3 Count Dolly Southern Sweets Doughnuts. This box is only $7.99 and includes one Dolly Dazzler, one Banana Puddin’ Pie, and one Chocolate Creme Pie. The only doughnut you’ll be missing out on is the Peachy-Keen Cobbler. This is what I ordered, so I’ll have to go back and try the Peachy-Keen Cobbler next time! I also did not get the Peachy-Keen Lemonade Flavored Chiller, I was simply not craving it first thing in the morning.

#3 - Banana Puddin’ Pie: No hate at all for this doughnut. It’s delicious! But it’s also a bit too much for me. After munching on half, I had to call it quits. This treat features a plain doughnut stuffed with banana puddin’ Kreme filling, topped with vanilla wafers, icing, and white drizzles. It’s a mouthful, that’s for sure! I will say, though, the vanilla wafers and banana pudding flavors go very well together. 

#2 - Chocolate Creme Pie: I’m giving second place to the Chocolate Creme Pie doughnut because I love me a chocolate doughnut! It’s also easier on the taste buds than the Banana Puddin’ Pie option. The Chocolate Creme Pie features Krispy Kreme’s beloved Original Glazed doughnut (a personal favorite) that is topped with a swirl of chocolate buttercream and vanilla whipped topping. And for that extra oomph, this doughnut is also topped with chocolate cookie crumbles. 

#1 - Dolly Dazzler: Finally, my foodie heart is giving the top spot to the Dolly Dazzler! Am I ranking it No. 1 because it’s pink? No! But also, sort of. Yes. Hear me out. Guys, this is the most beautiful doughnut I have ever seen! Not only that, but it tastes as good as it looks. Chocolate and vanilla? We see plenty of those! The Dolly Dazzler wakes you up with its strawberry icing, which sits on top of an Original Glazed. Gold, pink, and white glitter sprinkles top the doughnut, because it’s not Dolly if it’s not a little extra! Speaking of extra, did you think we were done? No. The Dolly Dazzler finishes things off with a chocolate Dolly butterfly piece.
