Who do we have to Big Green Begg to get one of these?

The Big Green Egg is the classic grilling device. You’ve seen it by the pool, on the deck, wherever. But there’s one enormous structural flaw with the grill, and it’s this: it’s not full of beer. Enter Miller Lite’s Big Green Kegg, which handily solves that problem.

“Beer and grilling are a natural pairing. What’s better than flipping a burger or smoking a brat with a beer in hand?,” said Anne Pando, Director of Marketing for Miller Lite via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. “That’s why we created the ultimate sidekick for your grill. While you’re grilling at the perfect heat, the Big Green Kegg keeps the great taste of Miller Lite ice cold so Griller Time always tastes like Miller Time.”

Though it’s not legally required for you to fill the keg with Miller Lite, it is branded all over the unit. Developed with the Big Green Egg folks, the “sidekick” has the same basic design, but is insulated to keep your beer cold while your burgers and hot dogs get nice and hot.

It’s also, of note, not a full keg of beer. This is a quarter barrel keg (aka 83, 12 oz. beers), and to keep things cool you need to add ice in the ceramic chamber. According to Miller, the Big Green Kegg doesn’t have a temperature gauge, it’s just designed to keep your beer cold. And once done, you can drain the melted ice (also known as “water”) through the “draft door,” then replace with more ice and keep the party going.

That said, if you want one of the babies you’ll have to act fast. Starting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 starting at 9 am CT, the Big Green Keggs will be available to customers 21+ for three days only - 5/28, 5/29, and 5/30 - for a cool $350, while supplies last, at www.shop.millerlite.com. If you miss it, though, there’s also a contest to win a Big Green Kegg starting May 30 at  www.millerlitebiggreenkegg.com. The brand promises that winners will receive their Kegg in time for the Fourth of July.

So what do you think? Will you be snagging a Big Green Kegg to put next to your Big Green Egg? We’ve turned comments off on the site so you can’t answer me here, but feel free to yell your answer at me across the pool while I’m grilling, a cool beer in hand, over the summer.
