National Pancake Day deals 2024: Free IHOP pancakes, Denny’s

Unlike many fake holidays, National Pancake Day actually has a reason for existing: it’s Shrove Tuesday, aka Mardi Gras, aka Pancake Tuesday. And with National Pancake Day comes a multitude of pancake deals, including Free IHOP, Denny’s, and many more.

So, why pancakes? Shrove Tuesday also has the name “Fat Tuesday” and part of the tradition is to eat fatty foods to celebrate the gluttony of the day. While I personally could probably think of fattier things to eat than pancakes, a pancake breakfast at church (or otherwise) is part of the tradition. That’s broadly expanded into National Pancake Day, which brings us back to why you’re here… Probably not history, definitely free pancake deals.

So, let’s flip this article upside down and brown the other side… Okay that metaphor ran out faster than maple syrup on Pancake Day, so let’s get into it.

IHOP free pancakes for National Pancake Day: How to get the free pancake deal

This is probably the easiest free pancake deal ever. All you have to do is head to your local IHOP for dine-in, and you get a free short stack of pancakes today (February 13, 2024) from 7 am to 7 pm. That’s it! You will have to order other food to take advantage of the deal, but there’s no catch otherwise.

And while you’re there, you can also snag the classic Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘n Fruity for only $7, or February’s extremely romantic Chocolate Strawberry Pancakes. Neither is free, but both sound delicious, so there you go.

Denny’s free pancakes for National Pancake Day: Hot to get the free pancake deal

Denny’s is also offering a free short stack of two buttermilk pancakes today from 5am to 5pm, with the purchase of any entree. As a bonus, every Tuesday Denny’s offers free food for kids from 4pm to 10pm.

Just in case you can’t do that math, you can get to Denny’s at 4pm and snag a short stack for yourself with an entree, and free food for your kids. That’s a pretty excellent deal, if you ask me.
