Sad news: Pringles no longer impossible to get out of a can, because now they come in a bag

RIP, my hands getting stuck in Pringles cans.

You know the drill. Pringles, the chips that come in a can, are so impossible to get out that even the brand has made commercials about people living their whole lives with their hands stuck, desperately trying to reach that last chip. And now, after years of this iconically stupid behavior we all engage in (just pour the chips, idiots), Pringles is introducing Pringles Mingles, the puffed snacks that come in a – get this – bag.

To be clear, regular Pringles will still continue to exist and tempt you like some sort of savory Chinese Finger Trap. But there will also be Pringles Mingles, which come in three flavors and do not look to get your hand stuck for all eternity while you try to eat them.

The new line is kicking off with three flavors: Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, and Dill Pickle & Ranch. In case you can’t tell, the “mingles” thing comes not from the chips being single (though ladies, I think they aaaaare), but because they mingle two flavors together.

“Our iconic Pringles can is part of our identity — and it’s not going anywhere — but we’re always looking for new ways to innovate and satisfy our fans’ latest cravings," said Mauricio Jenkins, US marketing lead  for Pringles in a press release provided to Guilty Eats. “This puffy, airy snack not only gives fans a new way to experience Pringles, but its easy-to share packaging creates a new way to enjoy their favorite snack with friends and family, whether  munching at home for movie night, at a party or on-the-go.”

The other thing you might notice is that they’re in the shape of a bowtie. That, of course, is in reference to Mr. P, the mascot of Pringles that appears on those dastardly cans, and in your nightmares as you sleep.

In all seriousness, it is interesting to see Pringles launch this line without the classic “plain” Pringles flavor, or the other classic, Sour Cream and Onion. But at the same time, I’m always up for a pickle flavored chip (seriously, it’s very good) so I won’t complain too much.

You’re going to have to wait a bit before you have a Pringles Mingle fling(le), though… The new line-up won’t hit stores until this October, just in time for… Halloween! Boo! Spooky! Scary!

Until then, at least, I’ll treasure that feeling of this article taking me five hours to type with my can hands.
