Whenever someone tries to take a bite, you can just say “That’s that ME espresso.”

The song of the summer is about to become the ice cream of the summer, as Sabrina Carpenter is teaming up with Van Leeuwen for “Espresso” ice cream.

The singer teased the news early on her Instagram stories on June 8 with a snap of the ice cream container with her picture on it and the note that the flavor would be available on June 28. Yesterday (June 12), Van Leeuwen confirmed the rumor on Instagram, aka your go-to source for breaking ice cream news, stating, “The rumors are true. Song of the summer, meet flavor of the summer: @SabrinaCarpenter Espresso ice cream.”

To be clear, the “at” sign won’t be part of the official name of the flavor, but the ice cream brand did reveal what the flavor is, beyond “espresso.” Specifically, it’s espresso ice cream with brownies, chocolate chips, and swirls of fudge. “Is it that sweet? We guess so,” continued the post, riffing off the lyrics of Carpenter’s hit song.

"Doing a flavor collab with a genuine Van Leeuwen super fan is always a lot of fun," Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO, said via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. "We’re so excited to celebrate Sabrina and her newest hit with this extremely delicious ice cream.”

This isn't the first time VL has released some sort of tie-in flavor, though it is a pretty unique one. Right now, they have a flavor connected to Leo, the Adam Sandler animated Netflix movie, on sale in their store. And most famously, the brand released Kraft Mac & Cheese ice cream, which sounds gross but I can attest got a "not as bad as I thought it would be" from my family when I brought home a pint (I actually kind of liked it, full disclosure).

Van Leeuwen also notes that not only will VL x Sabrina Carpenter Espresso ice cream be available both through their website and in person in Van Leeuwen scoop shops starting June 28, 2024, but 50% of the profits from the ice cream will be donated to the Ali Forney Center, a non-profit which provides shelter and healthcare services to LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness in the New York City area.

Delicious ice cream, and a great cause? Now, that’s that me espresso. You can check out the flavor for yourself at the end of the month, and fingers crossed they release Barry Coffeeoghan next.
