Shake Shack kicks off summer with a smoky BBQ menu
Shake Shack has spent the past few months pushing their Korean BBQ menu, so you know what that means: time for a summer refresh. The chain is getting ready to launch a brand new menu for summer that perfectly pairs barbecue flavors with their burgers and fries (sorry, no barbecue sauce shakes in the offing, unfortunately).
The new menu includes a Smoky Classic BBQ Burger, a Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles, BBQ Fries, and BBQ Cheese Fries. We’ll get into a little more about what to expect about each, but the main thing you’ll want to know is that while the menu officially launched on Friday, May 24, if you’re using the Shake Shack app you can get early access to the full menu starting today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Time for a breakfast burger, am I right? I am. I’m right.
Here’s what to expect from the new menu, per PR from Shake Shack provided to Guilty Eats:
Smoky Classic BBQ Burger: This is a one hundred percent beef burger, topped with American cheese, pickles, crispy onions, applewood-smoked bacon, and smoky barbecue sauce on the brand's signature toasted potato bun. It starts at $8.99, and it ends at $8.99. Just kidding, it starts there.
Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles: Once again, ladies and gentlemen... Beef. This burger has pepper jack cheese instead of the American cheese, plus fried pickles, bacon, and Carolina-style barbecue sauce. Does it come on a potato bun? You know it, hoss. This also starts at $8.99.
BBQ Fries: The brand's classic fries that have been sprinkled with barbecue seasoning, and then served with one of two barbecue sauces: the basic Shack barbecue sauce, or the Carolina barbecue sauce. This starts at $4.79.
BBQ Cheese Fries: See above, add cheese. This starts at $5.99.
While this all sounds pretty good, I’m most interested in the fried pickles, and whether you can perhaps get an order of them on the side? Dipping some fried pickles in Shack Sauce sounds like a win if you ask me.
