Sonic rewards teachers heading back to classrooms with free food
By Trey Weston
As August kicks into full gear, many students have begun or will soon head to school. That said, one group that often can be forgotten around this time of year is teachers. However, Sonic has a special offer to ensure teachers know they are appreciated.
In celebration of the time and effort necessary to be a teacher, the company is launching a Teachers' Circle Rewards program, open exclusively to teachers, faculty, or staff at K-12 schools or degree-seeking universities. On August 19, those who are part of the program will have access to several offers that will be available until September 1.
Per PR provided by Sonic to Guilty Eats, here are the special deals that can be redeemed anytime from August 19 to September 1:
- Free SONIC Cheeseburger with any purchase
- Free Large Drink or Slush with any purchase
- $1.29 Medium Onion Rings
The one big thing to note with this offer is that you must go through the Sonic app to join the Teachers' Circle Rewards program. Also, the registration must occur before August 19, the day the offers load onto the app.
In addition to celebrating teachers, Sonic is celebrating 15 years of its Limeades for Learning Initiative. The cause helps to support local education by donating a portion of every drink, shake, Sonic Blast, or slush purchase to public schools, teachers, and students.
That said, as much as we remember the bad teachers, we can quickly recall the good ones. Plus, with it being easy to take them for granted, it's a nice gesture from Sonic to give them some tasty offerings to take advantage of. And hey, what better way to celebrate the first day of school than to enjoy a cheeseburger and maybe a cherry limeade?
To all the teachers, staff, and faculty out there, I wish you a great school year!
