Spring Baking Championship season 10 was back this week with episode 5. It was only one episode, but it was filled with tears, stress, and borderline-cruel critiques from one of the judges. It was stressful to watch!

Let's start with the Preheat! For this challenge, the remaining bakers were challenged to make doughnuts that represented the Indian festival of Holi. The bakers were given a color that was also the name of an ingredient they had to use. The options incuded rose, pistachio, saffron, and tumeric.

As a donut addict, this was not the challenge I needed to watch while hungry. Most of the donuts looked colorful and absolutely delicious. There were a few missteps (and Duff had some ridiculously mean comments) but overall, this wasn't a bad challenge.

Who came out on top? That was Rochelle! The judges loved her rose glaze and the raspberry pastry cream inside her donut.

On to the Main Heat! For this challenge, the bakers were in teams of two and had to make a triple layer cake that looked like an elephant. It was in celebration of the Songkran Water Festival. To say this wasn't an easy task would be an understatement.

The teams consisted of Rochelle and Alex, Steven and Anna, Sabrina and Katelyn, and Nickey and Robert. The team that struggled the most was Sabrina and Katelyn. Their elephant was not staying up, and if it wasn't for Katelyn taking the reins, they would not have had a final cake at all.

But who came out on top? That was Steven and Anna! Their cake was amazing, especially considering the time limit they had. So who went home? That was Sabrina. Because the main problem was the structure of the cake and Sabrina was responsible for the structure, it made sense that she went home.

Next week, it's all about going to prom! The bakers will have to make floral corsage macrons and tsunami prom dress cakes.
