Have you ever walked into a Taco Bell and thought “I could live here”? Well, now you can with The Cantinas, a “retirement community” coming to San Diego that’s open to anyone – as long as you win a membership.

"There's a common misconception that retirement unlocks the life you've been waiting for. And while that may be true for some, we don't think you should have to wait until 55 to live the life you're craving," said Taylor Montgomery, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer of Taco Bell via press release. "The Cantinas early retirement community, just like our brand, represents a place where all generations can come together, regardless of age, to Live their Más however they want."

The retirement community will be open starting August 17 through 18, 2024 in San Diego. While there you can enjoy aerobics, pickleball, and more “senior-inspired” activities. What’s not 100% clear is how much Taco Bell will be involved, though pictures provided to press include shots of folks holding Taco Bell bags, and drinking from Taco Bell cups. So presumably there will be a T Bell somewhere on the campus.

Taco Bell Rewards members will get the first crack at signing up for The Cantinas on July 16 at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT, when a link pops up in the Taco Bell app. Once that link does pop up, you can purchase either a Weekend Membership, or a Day Pass.

The Day Pass is $50, and includes access for you and a guest to The Cantina, including “recreation, dining and more.” The hours are 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday; 8 am to 8 pm on Sunday (so go for Sunday as that’s the better deal).

Meanwhile, the Weekend Membership is $150, and includes an overnight stay, as well as “full access to amenities, recreation, dining and entertainment and more.”

Naturally, the availability of the tickets is extremely limited, and I’d expect it will sell out to Taco Bell Rewards Members, first. It’s also TBA how long this “retirement community” will continue past the initial two dates. So if you’re interested in retiring the Taco Bell way, better have those fingers ready on July 16.
