Taco Bell Through the Decades is an ingenious idea (Here's everything to know)
For most of us, Taco Bell has been around since we were young. Most of us remember going there and grabbing an item that would eventually disappear. This is the way with such a staple fast food restaurant.
Now, Taco Bell has heard our cries and shared its new Taco Bell Through the Decades menu. It runs from August 15 through the 21st at two locations in Southern California. In the press release shared with Guilty Eats, the brand said: "Taco Bell is looking into bringing these menu items nationwide later this year for a limited time and while supplies last."
While Taco Bell didn't give us a clear date, it's still something to look forward to.
While some fast food chains are all about moving forward, it's nice to see Taco Bell taking a step back and giving consumers what they're looking for. We know that the brand will continue to roll out new LTO items and even, bring back some others but seeing this menu gives me hope.
For those who haven't looked at the menu, it includes five different menu items starting in the 1960s and going into the 2000s. Frankly, each of the items is so different that no matter what you like, you're going to find something you want to revisit or something to try for the first time.
Taco Bell Through the Decades is an amazing idea for all
The five items are as follows: the Tostada from the '60s, the Green Burrito from the '70s, the Meximelt from the '80s, the Beef Gordita Supreme from the '90s, and then the Caramel Apple Empanada from the '00s. As you can see, there are plenty of iconic items featured on this menu so if you weren't able to try them at the time, you get a chance to do that now.
Additionally, those who tried and loved these items are able to get them again. Of course, nothing will compare to when you first tried and loved them. However, it's nice to see Taco Bell making an effort to give consumers what they're looking for. Allowing us to have these items back if only for a limited time feels like a sweet victory and proves just how timeless Taco Bell is.
For Taco Bell, it helps them to gauge just how beloved and popular an item was and still is. While it's unclear if any of these items will become permanent menu items again, it's nice to know that they're going to be there for a limited time. Seeing Taco Bell make this shift to nostalgic items and focusing on customer feedback gives me hope for what's next with the chain.
Frankly, I'd love to see Taco Bell do a second round of these with more variety. Whether it's focusing on past items from different decades, a particular ingredient, or just a menu full of LTO offerings, that would be such a cool idea. Then again, that might be a post for another item as the LTO offerings from Taco Bell are never-ending. All in all, though, it's awesome to see Taco Bell listening to its customers and allowing us just a taste of nostalgia.
