In the past, one of the best values at Taco Bell was the brand's different boxes. When these were first introduced, you could get a plethora of food for a very cheap price. In college, those were a lifesaver because you could eat a lot and not worry about breaking the bank.
However, in 2024, it feels like we're rarely getting a good bang for your buck. Yes, Taco Bell introduced the $5 Taco Discovery Box, which we loved here. But those sorts of deals are few and far between.
But what of the Big Cheez-It Box? Tied -- of course -- to the release of the Big Cheez-It, a cracker 16 times the size of a regular Cheez-It, The Big Cheez-It Box includes a medium fountain drink of your choice, the Big-Cheez Crunchwrap Supreme, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, and an order of Nacho Fries for $9.99.
So that's the deal. But compared to Taco Bell's other items, is it a good one?
Is Taco Bell's Big Cheez-It Box a snack or a skip for those on a budget?
In looking at the value, I wanted to first break down how much each item is individually and then figure out the total cost. These are the prices at my local Taco Bell, so prices may vary depending on your location. A medium fountain drink at Taco Bell is currently priced at $2.79 which is pretty pricey for just a drink -- unless it's a Mountain Dew Baja Blast, which is priceless. Just kidding, but it's worth the $2.79 just for that sweet Baja Blast alone.
Moving on to the food items, the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme is priced at $5.99 while a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito is priced at $4.19. Last but not least, a regular order of Nacho Fries is priced at $2.89. If you were to purchase each item individually, you'd be spending $15.86 not including tax. If you're feeling extra hungry, you can get a large order of Nacho Fries for $1 more which would still take your total up to less than the individual items. Surprisingly, the Big Cheez-It Box is a good value from Taco Bell -- if you were planning on buying all of those items anyway.
Another reason the Big Cheez-It Box is a good value is because it's very sharable. If you're out with someone and you two aren't looking to spend a lot, you could get this box and split everything aside from the drink for a decent price.
I'm happy to say that I can recommend the Big Cheez-It Box from Taco Bell as it is, in fact, a great value. If you're planning to try the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme and want to make a full meal out of it, this is an excellent option. If you're not swayed by this new item, you can always go with the $5.99 Build Your Own Cravings Box or grab the Taco Discovery Box on Tuesday for $5. Big Cheez-It sold separately.
