Just in time for May 4, aka May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day, TRUFF is launching its hottest sauce ever, in collaboration with Lucasfilm: Star Wars Dark Side Hot Sauce.

“TRUFF has always merged pop culture with culinary experiences in an effort to weave unexpected narratives into our flavor creations,” says Nick Ajluni, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at TRUFF, via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. “Collaborating with Lucasfilm to incorporate elements of the legendary Star Wars saga into this product is a manifestation of this commitment, where we aim to craft more than just a hot sauce – we aim to create an immersive culinary adventure that resonates with Star Wars fans and hot sauce aficionados alike. Our newest spicy blend will immerse you in a flavorful experience that echoes the profound depth and intensity inherent in the Star Wars galaxy.”

The new sauce comes in a collectible gift box featuring the Imperial crest and is bottled in a matte black 6oz bottle, with a cap that’s shaped like Darth Vader’s iconic helmet.

Which is all fine and good, but what does it taste like? Betraying the Jedi Order? Roasted Hayden Christensen? And did you think it smelled worse on the outside? The last is a tauntaun joke, but I’m running low on Vader references here.

In fact, “the sauce intertwines the fiery essence of ghost peppers with the opulent notes of black winter truffles.” Which sounds like more than enough to make you scream “Nooooo!” after you taste it.

While the sauce is currently only on sale through the IGN Store for seven days beginning April 24, on May 1, 2024, it will hit TRUFF.com, depending on how much is left after the first-week sale. Each package goes for $39.99, and is so spicy that it will make you say “no disintegrations." Whew, got one more reference in there under the wire.
