Uber One for Students offers discounts on Starbucks, Taco Bell, Domino’s and more
Uber has just dropped a slew of announcements as part of their annual GO-GET Product Showcase. And while some of them like Uber Shuttle, which leans into charter buses, are intriguing, probably the most on topic for Guilty Eats is the news that Uber One for Students is getting cheaper – and offering some solid fast food discounts at the same time.
Uber One for Students is a membership program that costs $4.99, or $48 annually, and offers benefits and savings through both Uber and Uber Eats. Normally Uber One is double that (approximately) at $9.99, so it pays to have a student ID and a dream of getting discount Uber stuff. You can also get four weeks free to try it out, if you want to try before you buy.
But even better are the fast food discounts, which will roll out daily from Starbucks, Taco Bell, Domino’s and more. Per a PR rep for Uber, here’s what to expect from the roll-out:
Starbucks: Enjoy an afternoon pick me up with 5% off all orders daily from 12-6pm PLUS score a free Refresher beverage every Monday when you spend $15+.
Taco Bell: Did somebody say Taco Tuesday? Enjoy 5% off all orders every day AND treat yourself to a free soft taco every Tuesday when you spend $20+.
Domino’s: Say hello to hump day happiness! Enjoy 5% off all orders daily AND indulge in a free pepperoni stuffed cheesy bread every Wednesday with a $20+.
All of these discounts will be offered in the app, and Uber teases there are more to come. Pretty, pretty cool.
If you’re not a student – or, even if you are – there’s another deal you might want to take advantage of. All summer long Uber Eats is partnering with Costco for discounts TBA, as well as granting Costco members the opportunity to purchase an Uber One membership for 20% off. Not quite the steep discount of the student membership, but we’ll take what we can get.
Lastly, Uber Eats is adding a fun new feature: Uber Eats Lists. The user-curated lists will allow you to share your favorite restaurants with friends, or enemies, or whoever happens to be browsing your lists.
Now, just need to scrounge up my student ID from several decades ago…
