What to know if you want to head to Costco on New Year's Eve 2023 or New Year's Day 2024

There are a lot of reasons why we like shopping at Costco Wholesale. From the deals we can find to being able to snack our way around the store, there are plenty of things that make the wholesaler one of our go-to places to stock up and save on both the every day must-haves and the once-in-awhile treats.

However, when it comes to getting in those last minute trips for holiday gatherings or even when prepping for a new week (or in this case year), we have to take into account the actual holidays we are celebrating. Obviously, the final holiday of 2023 and the very first holiday of 2024 go hand-in-hand, and leave us with a need to know where we can get any last minute shopping done.

In this case, we wanted to know exactly what the holiday hours for Costco were and thankfully, the company is very open about that over on their Customer Service page.

What are the holiday hours for Costco Wholesale on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?

First we can confirm that Costco is open on New Year's Eve, although they may operate with shortened hours. We highly recommend checking with your local store before heading over if you are running late.

Unfortunately for anyone hoping to hit up Costco on New Year's Day, we are out of luck. That is because the wholesaler is closed on January 1. With Costco being closed on New Year's Day, if you need to do some bulk shopping, you will have to find an alternative store or do the shopping on New Year's Eve or the day after the holiday when they resume their normal business hours.

Considering we only have a Costco membership, our bulk shopping really only happens there. However, there are other places where we can get our groceries from if we really do need to make a trip out of the house to kick off 2024.
