One would have thought that would be Harold & Kumar, but I guess not!

There’s another, non-White Castle chain that is famous for telling you to run to the border. But when you want to run to the Borderlands? White Castle is what you crave, as the brand has announced what they are calling per a press release provided to Guilty Eats, White Castle’s “largest-ever partnership for a film release.” Yes, bigger than Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.

“Just when you think there wasn’t any room to improve Sliders, this collaboration with Borderlands is upping the ante by allowing Cravers across the country to bring this awesome franchise directly into Castles as well as into their own kitchens and dining rooms,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle via that same press release. “Sliders are a great option to enjoy while you’re gaming with friends at home, pre-gaming before heading to see Borderlands, or recapping the movie when it’s over. We’re all about summertime fun, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Lionsgate and this big, fun summer movie.”

In case you’re not familiar, Borderlands is a long-running game series – and now it’s coming to theaters on August 9, starring Cate Blanchet, Kevin Hart, and more. And if you’re hyped for the movie (or just like White Castle), there’s a bunch of merch to grab.

First and foremost, the brand is rolling out Borderlands packaging on their six-count sliders found in grocery and big box stores. The cast will be appearing on three varieties: Classic Cheese, Jalapeño Cheese, and Original. They’ll also be on the Crave Clutch pack sold in White Castle restaurants nationwide – and you can snag one of three large soft drink cups featuring the characters, including the lovable, cranky robot Claptrap at the heart of the film, also in restaurants.

In fact, Claptrap is at the center of the big extension of the team-up, as QR codes on packages can be scanned to activate one of seven AR experiences featuring the robot buddy. The QR codes will only be on the six-count packs of sliders, the Crave Clutch, or one of the three cups, and only for a limited time. So you gotta catch ‘em all! Sorry, wrong video game franchise.
