The weather’s heating up, and we’re entering that time of year when grabbing an ice-cold shake is one of the best ways to cool down. One great place to do that is Shake Shack. While their current focus is on the new Carolina BBQ menu, they’ve also recently rolled out three seasonal shakes: Banana Pudding, Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake, and Campfire S’mores.
I made my way to the popular chain to try all three options, and here’s how they stacked up, ranked from favorite to least favorite:
1. Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake Shake
Nothing screams summer quite like a funnel cake or fried Oreo, and this shake feels like both rolled into one. With Oreo pieces and funnel cake crunch, it delivers that Cookies ’n’ Creme-meets-carnival vibe in every sip. It was by far my favorite — thanks to a flavor combo that just works perfectly.
2. Campfire S'mores Shake
I’m not a big fan of camping, but I’ve always loved s’mores — and this shake captures that nostalgic, campfire flavor. Like the others, it’s definitely on the sweet side, but the chocolate and toasted marshmallow fudge chunks hit the mark. Still, a bit more graham cracker flavor could’ve launched it into the top spot.
3. Banana Pudding Shake
If you read my review of Chick-fil-A’s banana shake return last summer, you already know I’m not usually a fan of banana-flavored shakes. That said, I approached this one with an open mind. While it ended up being my least favorite, I still enjoyed it. The wafer cookies add a nice crunch, and banana shakes are starting to grow on me — though I still prefer a classic vanilla or strawberry.
Each shake costs over $5, so they’re not exactly a bargain — but that’s the price you pay for shakes these days. If you’re looking for a sweet, summery indulgence, Shake Shack has you covered.
And while you’re there, be sure to check out the new Carolina BBQ menu, also available for a limited time this summer.
