When it comes to simple food pleasures, few things compare to the charm of a Rice Krispies Treat. The marshmallow square was a staple in my lunchbox and remains an occasional indulgence to this day.
This year, Rice Krispies Treats has already made its debut in the frozen section, and now the brand is back with its latest innovation: Rice Krispies Treats Bliss.
Rice Krispies Treats Bliss arrives next month
Inspired by home cooks who add fancy mix-ins to their Rice Krispie Treats, Rice Krispies Treats Bliss is the newest option that falls under the Rice Krispie catalog. Heading to retailers next month, it will come in two flavors that include Chocolate Sea Salt Pretzel and Caramel Sea Salt Pretzel. Each of these will be available for purchase in a 6-pack.
"The new Rice Krispies Treats Bliss flavors reimagine our bars as a canvas for gourmet topping combinations," said Danielle Rappoport, Brand Director for Rice Krispies Treats in a press release. "More and more, we're seeing fans elevate their Rice Krispies Treats bars at home with over-the-top mix-ins, from candy to pretzels."
Although mixing things into Rice Krispies Treats may be a great way to enjoy it, I would have to say that I am a purist when it comes to the option that instantly takes me back to my childhood. You can mix your candy or chocolate in, but there is something wonderful about taking that bite into the marshmallow square and enjoying its sugary goodness on the most basic level.
That said, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little intrigued — especially by the caramel flavor. I have no doubt these will be a hit, adding another tempting option to the Rice Krispies Treats lineup.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll be heading to the grocery store to grab Rice Krispies Treats Bliss and the Rice Krispies Treats Ice Cream Bars from the frozen section.
