There is always something new cooking up with Oreo, and earlier this year, it was all about Post Malone and his Salted Caramel Cookies that required no help to finish. Before that, it was Lady Gaga, who teamed up with the brand for cookies inspired by her sixth studio album Chromatica. And now, Oreo is partnering with another music superstar, Selena Gomez.
Working closely with the iconic cookie brand, Gomez developed a special, limited-edition flavor inspired by her love of horchata — the sweet, cinnamon-infused drink popular in Mexico. The one-of-a-kind cookies feature a layer of chocolate and cinnamon-flavored creme atop a layer of sweetened condensed milk-flavored creme, all sandwiched between chocolate cinnamon-flavored wafers. To top it off, they’re finished with cinnamon sugar inclusions.
"Making my own OREO cookie was a lot of fun. I grew up loving them, so being a part of the process was a full circle moment," said Gomez in a statement regarding the Oreo collab. "I wanted to find a way for it to feel comforting and have a bit of nostalgia from my childhood. The cinnamon flavor gives it this Horchata feel, and I'm excited for my fans to try it."
In addition to the new flavor, the cookies come with six unique embossments designed with her fans in mind. Plus, in approximately one out of every three packs, you’ll find an exclusive cookie featuring Gomez’s signature, marking the first time Oreo has ever included an autograph on a cookie.
This collaboration adds to what’s already been a big year for Gomez. She’s preparing to marry record producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, and she’s currently filming Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.
As for the cookie news, the limited-edition flavor will be available for presale at OREO.com/UnwarpTheCollab starting June 2, with retail availability beginning June 9, but only for a limited time.
