SpongeBob SquarePants Meal Kits Coming from Home Chef!

Now is the time to really dive into your love of SpongeBob SquarePants, as Home Chef is giving customers a chance to eat meals that even our favorite sea dwellers would enjoy. This limited time menu is available now through March 21 and features a variety of meals that would be specials in their own right on the Krusty Krab menu.

So what are these Bikini Bottom inspired meals? Well not only is there a Pineapple Under the Sea Burger with “tiki” teriyaki sauce and cilantro “kelp” fries that you can get any of the weeks the meals are offered, but you can also snag the “CHOCOLATE!” Brownie Cookie Skillet as well. And yes that brownie cookie skillet is also a weekly option.

Honestly, we love that Home Chef is taking inspiration from SpongeBob as we head out of February and into March. Not only do the meals sound delicious and fun, but we even had the opportunity to try two of them for ourselves.

First up we tried the The “Krusty Krab Pizza” Flatbread which comes with pepperoni and mushrooms on it. This was a fun meal to make and it was actually relatively easy. This is one of those meals that I can see people making with their children at their side.

This flatbread was very tasty and while it didn't scream SpongeBob, I don't think it really needed to. Instead, I think it was the idea of making something so easy with the kids that made this one work so well. Plus, flatbread is always a win in my book.

The second meal I got to try was the Pineapple Under the Sea Burger with “tiki” teriyaki sauce and cilantro “kelp” fries. And I have to say that was shocked at how enjoyable this one really was. I don't particularly love the idea of pineapple on my burgers, but somehow all of these flavors really did work well together. I think the fact that you can customize this a bit by adding more or less of the teriyaki sauce also helped to make this one a fun surprise.

I have to say that I have never had a disappointing meal from Home Chef. While I have sometimes struggled with a recipe or two, overall it is clear that they understand how to put together meal kits that are delicious with relatively easy to follow recipes and instructions. And there is no denying that the addition of pictures certainly helps the process as well.

This collaboration between Home Chef and SpongeBob SquarePants is definitely a fun one that we think a lot of customers will fall in love with. And if you want to commemorate this collab as a first time customer, there is even a free SpongeBob spatula that you can snag with the code CHEFKRABS, which will also get you your first shipment of meals for $4.99 per serving and free shipping as well. It's a great time to try Home Chef for the first time.
