It is almost May, so avid soft drink fans know that limited edition summer drinks are about to hit the market. The first noteworthy one is from the Coca-Cola Company, the result of a recent viral internet trend.

With the official introduction of Sprite+Tea coming on May 19, we no longer have to watch an endless reel of videos showing us how to cold steep a tea bag into a bottle of Sprite.

Sprite+Tea will be available in regular and no sugar versions. Will all of the internet people making their own run out to the stores to buy one of these varieties? We will have to wait and see.

Your Sprite+Tea Questions Are Answered

1. Does Sprite+Tea have caffeine?

The biggest consumer question is on caffeine. Sprite prides itself on being caffeine-free. Many tea varieties are naturally caffeinated. It appears that decaffeinated teas will be used to keep the Sprite product line caffeine-free.

2. What flavor and variety of tea are used?

What tea flavor and how much tea is used are both mysteries. Sprite+Tea is described as a lemon-lime and tea flavored soda. The product description is a bit unclear and does not elicit warm and fuzzy feelings that the Sprite+Tea will be as natural as the DIY internet drink.

3. What configurations will Sprite+Tea be sold in?

The Sprite+Tea zero-sugar version will only be available in 12 oz. cans. The regular version will be sold in 20 oz. bottles and 12 oz. cans. Sprite+Tea is expected to be in stores through mid-August.

4. How does Sprite+Tea taste?

We have not been able to get our hands on a sample yet, so sadly, we do not know. Sprite+Tea is an interesting concept that the internet got behind, but it is not a natural combination. Sprite is carbonated, and tea is made with water. If fizzy tea is what you crave, this could be your go-to drink for the summer.

Sprite celebrates its 65th birthday in 2026 so fans should expect more limited edition offerings forthcoming to commemorate its introduction to US markets in 1961.
