Subway dials up the heat with new Ghost Pepper Bread
By Trey Weston
Typically, when you visit a Subway location, the bread options for your sub include Italian, Wheat, Italian Herb & Cheese, and Flatbread. But what if there was the ability to do something a little different and spice things up? That is exactly what the sub-spot is offering with its latest release.
Starting tomorrow, Subway is offering a new addition to the bread department, as Ghost Pepper Bread will be available for your sub. According to the company's press release, the bread is said to balance heat, crunch, and flavor through bold seasoning and toppings. That said, it is described as "Artisan Italian bread dough that is carefully coated in ghost pepper, habanero, and paprika-seasoned breadcrumbs before being topped with Monterey cheddar cheese and jalapeño slices."
"It's been three years since Subway added a new sub bread to the menu, so we wanted to surprise our guests with something unexpected and capable of elevating every sub on the menu," said Paul Fabre, Senior Vice President of Culinary and Innovation at Subway.
If you really want to get extra spicy...
For those who want to get even more spicy, there are two recommended subs to take your spice trip to the next level. If you are brave enough to take on this challenge, the best way is with the Spicy Nacho Steak or Fiery Meatball. Each of those is already heavy on the heat, and the bread makes it even more spicy.
Subway continues its impressive year of new options
Once again, Subway has provided a delicious new option to consider during your next visit. After a year that has already featured footlong desserts and rollups, there is now a spicy new bread that is sure to put a smile on the faces of those who love the hot stuff.
