There are some seasonings and flavors that are simply synonymous with seafood. And there is no denying that Old Bay Seasoning is at the top of the list when it comes to being a seafood-centric flavor profile.
So it may come as no surprise that finally, Chicken of the Sea is giving us tuna packets that have been pre-seasoned with Old Bay Seasoning. Their Wild Caught Light Tuna in a packet is perfect for lunches on the go and prepping individual snacks and meals. And anytime you can get a packet that already has a bunch of flavor packed into it, you know that you are cutting down on what you need to take with you for a to-go treat.
We were sent a few packets of the Chicken of the Sea Old Bay Seasoning Wild Caught Light Tuna to try for ourselves. And we decided to try them in different ways. Not only did we eat it straight out of the packet, but we also tried mixing it with mayo and also using it as part of an elevated tuna noodle casserole.
Chicken of the Sea has a winner with their new Old Bay Seasoning Wild Caught Light Tuna packets
There is no denying that this is now a tuna that is packed with flavor. Thanks to the celery salt and Paprika that help to bring the flavor to the Old Bay party, you have a tuna that really screams savory treat with a kick.
Not only was this tuna packet tasty as is, but adding mayo and eating it on crackers was a win for me. In fact, I will say that the mayo and tuna combination was my favorite. I would absolutely eat it this way again.
I will say that it didn't really work in the tuna noodle casserole dish, but I would totally try it in other cooking applications to add flavor and depth to a dish. But at the end of the day, this tuna is a win for people who love a lot of flavor with their tuna and who may want a bit of kick.
