It may be Kardashian Jenner week at Crumbl, but we are really here for the new gluten-friendly treat that hit the menu. That is because for the first time, Crumbl is listening to the thousands of requests that it has received and has launched a gluten-friendly chocolate cake. Inspired by Kourtney Kardashian, this luscious dessert delivers on the promise of rich, chocolatey goodness in every bite.
Available through April 12, it seems that this cake was something that they’ve been working on for a while. According to the vice president of menu at Crumbl, Amy Eldridge, “this has been our number one request from fans. We took our time to get it right, to make sure the texture and taste offered our signature Crumbl experience, and I can’t wait for everyone to try our first gluten-friendly dessert.”
We had the opportunity to try this dessert, courtesy of Crumbl, and as someone who has never had a gluten-friendly dessert before, I was very impressed. While it was not as a light and fluffy as I am used to in a chocolate cake or any cake from Crumbl, it was such a delicious bite of cake that I was okay with it not being on the fluffy side. It was definitely a denser cake, but it was also very moist and chocolatey. And there’s something about the topping of chocolate glaze and fresh raspberries that really brought it all together.

While eating this chocolate cake, I found myself eager to go in for that next bite, and I didn’t find the flavor to be overly cloying either. I think the fact that they did not use refined sugar, and opted to keep it free of gluten allowed the chocolate to really shine.
This was a decadent dessert that I think even people who don’t have a problem with gluten would love. I will say that for me at least, you can almost never go wrong with a well baked chocolate cake. And when it comes to delicious and decadent desserts, Crumbl really does deliver.
One thing to note is that this creation is made in their normal kitchens. So while this is a flourless cake, it is not baked in a certified gluten-free kitchen.
Hopefully, by adding this to the menu, even for a limited time, it opens the door for people who are gluten sensitive to try something new from Crumbl. It’s definitely worth ordering at least once. And I will admit that I will likely order it again myself.
