Did you know that Dolly Parton has a line of baking mixes done in partnership with Duncan Hines? And as part of that lineup, the brand is offering two different cookie mixes to choose from.
Not only do they have a chocolate chip cookie mix, but they also have a sugar cookie mix as well. And we were lucky enough to get both flavors sent to us for review by Duncan Hines.
Right off the bat I have to say that the chocolate chip cookies were very tasty, but I struggled to make them. For me, the mix was a bit too dry, so I had to add a little water in order to get everything mixed together. But once I did that, everything came together and I was able to get these baked up.
The chocolate chip cookies ended up being quite tasty without being too sweet. And it did feel like there was the correct ratio of chips to dough, which is always a must. Every bite had chips in them, and the cookie baked up nicely once I was able to get the dough mixed properly.

Then we had the sugar cookie mix, which was good but just a bit too sweet for me. That being said, it did have a nice flavor to it that I believe was vanilla. It might seem weird to say this, but the flavor was creamy. And these did bake up nicely.
I think if I were to make these sugar cookies again, I would add some lemon zest to the top to potentially cut that sweetness. But overall, these were good cookies.
Personally, I think both of these cookie mixes were good and they definitely baked up tasty cookies. However, I have to admit that I was not blown away by these mixes. They were good, but I am not sure if I would go out of my way to snag these. (If they ever release ready to bake dough, I would absolutely give those a try.)
