  1. Fettuccine Alfredo - Fettuccine Alfredo being the most popular pasta dish likely comes as no surprise. What might surprise you is the fact that it is the top dish in an impressive 29 states.
  2. Lasagna - This is the top pasta dish in seven states, making it the second most popular dish on the list.
  3. Carbonara - This is one of my favorite pasta dishes, and I love to see it in the top three across the U.S. For this dish, it is also a favorite in seven different states.
  4. Spaghetti Bolognese - This one is interesting because it is only a favorite in one state, but its actual search score is higher than the dish in the fifth spot.
  5. Pesto Pasta - This dish is a favorite in two states, being a favorite for people looking for a pasta that is a bit lighter with a brighter flavor profile.

Interestingly enough, some states (and Washington D.C.) had more than one pasta dish as a favorite. In Massachusetts, it was a tie between Tortellini en Brodo and Spaghetti alla Nerano for favorite pasta dish. And neither of those dishes made the top five. The Tortellini en Brodo is actually at the top of the list for three states, but only made it into the 12th spot on the overall list of favorite dishes. For New York, it seems that it was a tie between Tortellini en Brodo and Spaghetti with Bottarga for best pasta dish. Whereas in Florida, the tie was between two of the top dishes: Fettuccine Alfredo and Carbonara.

Honestly, it is interesting to learn what people enjoy when it comes to their pasta. And we love finding out top dishes across the U.S., especially when we can learn more about what different states are enjoying.

What do you think of the top five pasta dishes in the U.S.? Are you at all surprised by this top five list? What is your favorite pasta dish?
