Will Costco be open on Thanksgiving Day? What do we know?

When it comes to planning for Thanksgiving, there is a lot that goes into getting ready for the holiday. And if you are hosting, that includes making sure that you have all of the food and beverage items that you need to serve all of your guests. For a larger gathering, Costco Wholesale is the perfect shopping destination for all of your Thanksgiving needs.

Considering you can buy in bulk at Costco, it makes sense to figure out their holiday hours. And one thing we have to confirm is that they will be closed on Thanksgiving day. It is one of the seven days of the year that they are actually closed, according to their customer service page.

This means that any holiday shopping that you need to get done for your Thanksgiving gatherings has to be done by Wednesday (November 27). Otherwise, you will have to find somewhere else to get what you need. (There are grocery stores and other stores where you can snag needed supplies.)

Costco is closed for Thanksgiving 2024, but they will be open on Black Friday for all the sales

While store hours might vary by location, when we checked our local warehouses (we have two locations within 10 miles of our home in either direction), both of them stated that they would still be closing at their normal time on Wednesday night. For us that meant 8:30 PM. However, they will be opening an hour early on Black Friday. For our location this meant that they will be opening at 9 AM on Black Friday, instead of their normal 10 AM.

Although they have not yet shared exactly what is on sale for Black Friday, as of the time of writing, they are running a month of holiday deals that are also worth checking out. Even food items are on sale at Costco. From cookies to lasagna, and even roasted nuts, there are deals to be found at Costco Wholesale this November. And if you were looking for deals on appliances, Costco is worth checking out as well.

In fact, speaking of appliances on sale at Costco, if you are looking for one of the Vitamix Blenders, it seems that they have one of those on sale for $100 off through December 2. And that’s just one deal that we have found in our hunt for Black Friday deals.

Considering that the deals we are sharing here are not even the Black Friday sales, we can only imagine what they will be offering. And as they say on their Black Friday Sales page, their promotions are worth waiting for. “Black Friday deals offer big savings on the hottest gifts on your wish list.”

We don't know about you, but even though Costco may not be open for us on Thanksgiving, we are pretty excited to find out what they have in store for us in terms of those Black Friday deals.
