Baseball food: 2018’s best new MLB ballpark foods

Baseball Food is the best thing you can stuff in your face on a warm day. Truth. Each year the teams roll out new and exciting stuff, so here is a list of the most interesting new food item for each team!

Some teams lack imagination (I’m looking at you, St. Louis) but others really got into the swing of things (Hello, Texas Rangers!).

Baltimore Orioles: The Bob Marley is a hot dog with jerk chicken, coleslaw, jalapenos and sriracha.

Boston Red Sox: Crème Brulee French Toast is house made pastry cream & chocolate ganache, Vermont maple syrup and Fenway Farm’s Strawberry sauce and topped with powdered sugar.

Get yer corn dogs!

New York Yankees: The Kona BBQ Brisket Burnt Ends Sandwich has Brisket burnt ends, Hawaiian macaroni salad, pepper jack cheese on a King’s Hawaiian split top hot dog bun. Extra points for also offering Bacon on a Stick!

Tampa Bay Rays: Blueberry Bacon Sliders!

Toronto Blue Jays: The Log Cabin Waffle Sandwich has rosemary scented waffles stuffed with pulled pork, cheese curds and maple baked beans, topped with mole sauce.

Chicago White Sox: The Sox-o-Bene is a sandwich on a hoagie roll with Chicago-style hot giardiniera, breaded &  fried steak topped with melted mozzarella.

Cleveland Indians: The Flamethrower is a sandwich loaded with pork belly and pulled pork with bacon jam, barbecue sauce, green apple slaw and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Detroit Tigers: Brisket and Cheddar stuffed Cornbread Muffin! Points for Grossness: Little Ceaser Coney Dog Pizza: deep-dish dough with a Coney sauce, cheese, ballpark frank, mustard, onions and cheese.

Kansas City Royals: The Pork Belly Mac and Cheese has fried shallot, green onion and pork belly coated in Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce on top of the macaroni and cheese.

Minnesota Twins: Hrbek’s Brunch Bloody Mary (served only on Sunday) is topped with a bacon cheesebuger slider, and also includes a Kramarczuk’s sausage sampler skewer.

Houston Astros: BBQ Funnel Cake is a beast with Pulled pork, chopped beef, smoked sausage, citrus kale black bean slaw, golden grain mustard barbecue sauce served on a deep-fried funnel cake.

Los Angeles Angels: The Smoke Ring Spud loaded with pulled pork in a sweet/tangy barbecue sauce, cheddar, green onions and crispy fried onions.

Oakland A’s: It’s a tie! The Dungeness Crab Cakes and Hollandaise Sauce & Chicken Enchilada Potato Skins with Baja Sauce both sound amazing!

Seattle Mariners: Frito Pie has Double R Ranch smoke brisket cooked down into chili with four different peppers and served on a bag of Fritos with cheese and jalapenos!

Texas Rangers: Everything is bigger in Texas, including hot dogs: The “MVT” Dog is a 7 pound chili dog (which by itself is called “The Boomstick”) wrapped in a tamale! Pepto not included.

Atlanta Braves: The Spec-Tater is a potato loaded with jalapeno cheddar sausage, wrapped with bacon, and topped with cheese, sour cream, scallions, and more jalapenos.

Miami Marlins: The Arepa Burger is thier premium blend burger topped with pickled red onions, cilantro jalapeno line aioli and chicharrones served between a classic cheese arepa.

New York Mets: The Alpine Brat features raclette cheese melted and scraped over a foot-long brat on an artisan baguette

Philadelphia Phillies: The Crispy Chicken Sandwich (needs a better name) is fried chicken topped with tomato bacon jam, roasted shaved Brussels sprouts and Vermont white cheddar cheese, on a brioche bun.

Washington Nationals: Ben’s Chili bowl has a Half Smoke “All The Way”, which has chili and mustard.

Chicago Cubs: The Chick-Ago Sandwich is pickle-brined breaded chicken thighs, tempura sport peppers, tomatoes, dill aioli on an onion roll with celery salt.

Cincinnati Reds: The Candy Cloud Waffle Cone is a waffle cone that is wrapped in cotton candy, featuring soft serve ice cream and sprinkles.

Milwaukee Brewers: Loaded Kettle Chips, including buffalo chicken chips and steak and cheese chips.

Pittsburgh Pirates: Pulled Pork Hoagie with saucy pulled pork, potato and cheese pierogies on a hoagie roll and topped with crispy onions! This thing needs a crazy name!

St. Louis Cardinals: Probably any St. Louis BBQ. But seriously, people who run the Cards’ stadium food: have a little imagination.

Arizona Diamondbacks: The Asada dog is an 18-inch Schreiner’s hot dog sitting in a Talera bun and is covered in fries, queso blanco, carne asada, pico de gallo and guacamole.

Colorado Rockies: Rocky Mountain oysters topped with garlic slaw, guacamole, green chili ranch, pico de gallo and cotija cheese, on a po’boy roll. The Rockies win the Grossest Thing To Eat Award!

Los Angeles Dodgers: The Cheet-O-Lote is roasted sweet corn rubbed wtih chipotle lime mayo, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, cotija cheese and tajin seasoning.

San Diego Padres: Buona Forchetta pizza, both neopolitan and think crust roman style sound pretty amazing.

San Francisco Giants: The Juicy Lou is a dinner-style, cheese-stuffed burger modeled on the Midwest’s famous Juicy Lucy burger.
