Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back premiere: What to expect

The very first episode of Gordon Ramsay’s new series, 24 Hours to Hell and Back, premieres tomorrow. Here’s what to expect in the very first episode.

Gordon Ramsay is taking on a new challenge. In 24 Hours to Hell and Back, he’s giving himself the challenge to transform failing restaurants that are just a step away from complete closure. His mission, now he’s chosen to accept it, is to turn the restaurants around. Of course, that’s not going to be easy as the restaurant owners will always have their own opinions and preferences.

The 24 Hours to Hell and Back premiere airs tomorrow night. Titled “Bella Gianna’s,” the episode focuses on a family-owned Italian restaurant in Congers, New York. Bella Gianna’s is on the brink of closure and the family may lose everything if that happens. It’s up to Ramsay to help turn things around, but will the family listen to his suggestions—and sometimes his orders rather than requests.

Ramsay has certainly proven his skills and knowledge in the past. He did a similar program about hotels, but restaurants are harder. They’re among the hardest businesses to run successfully, but Ramsay has a successful chain of his own restaurants so he must know what works and what doesn’t.

It’s not going to be easy for Ramsay with this first episode. During the 24 Hours to Hell and Back premiere, Ramsay learns that the owner’s temper has led to workplace and family tension. Ramsay should know what that’s like since he doesn’t particularly have the best reputation for his temper. However, he’s managed to make it work with a nurturing attitude when necessary and the right sous chefs.

Now Ramsay will need to help this owner change his ways, while also working on a new menu and giving the restaurant a fresh look. Can he manage it all in 24 hours? It seems like a big task but if anyone can it’s going to be Ramsay.
