Number 17. The McDonald’s McRib
Menu item: The McRib
Fast food vendor: McDonald’s
What is it and what is it made of?
Basically, it’s a barbecued rib in a sandwich. Consisting of a McRib Pork Patty, some tangy barbecue McRibb sauce, pickles, slivered onions, all on a hoagie homestyle roll.
Why does it need to be removed?
First arriving on the menu way back in 1981 the McRibb was promptly removed in 1985 due to poor sales. Which should have been the massive indicator that this fast food menu is not worth anyone’s time.
Yet for some reason, McDonald’s brought back the McRib year after year. And every year it comes back, fans are not impressed. And it’s because it resembles nothing like a rib. So if you think that is what you are going to get, your not. You get the tangy barbecue taste and that’s about it.
Ultimately the sandwich is a huge disappointment. It could be so much better, and despite the McRib being around for so long, it hasn’t improved in any way what so ever. It’s been around for over 20 years now and if you were to ask someone who tried one back then. They would tell you there is nothing really different from what was made so long ago, to now.
