Rachels Cafe, located in downtown Houston, is a greasy spoon that has fresh ingredients to serve on their bountiful flavorful burgers. Every review you read on Yelp about this cafe raves about the restaurant’s freshness. It’s that aspect that makes Rachels such a unique place to eat in a town that is chock full of greasy spoons that could have made this list.

Another thing that sets Rachels apart is the chili cheese fries. Now, everyone loves a good set of chili cheese fries, but Rachels is one of the best. Make sure you pair it with a good bacon cheeseburger or a grilled cheese, both of which are also top-notch at this downtown lunch spot.

Rachels Cafe has a Yelp score of four-stars, and for good reason. The food, the freshness of the food, and the atmosphere combine to make this greasy spoon truly a one of a kind institution.
