Taco Bell just had its entire menu ranked

Who has the time to rank an entire menu from Taco Bell? The folks at Thrillist do! Their power ranking of the taco chain giant was very interesting.

In 2016, Will Fulton of Thrillist embarked on a mission to rank every last morsel of Taco Bell’s menu board. Late last month, he ranked all of the taco chain’s menu, and it’s a very interesting and shocking read.

How did he do it? Well, in his opening paragraph, Fulton set out to order and eat at least three bites of every Taco Bell menu item. What his motivation? We’re not so sure, but he did say that he did the Taco Bell power ranking in remembrance of the famous Chihuahua, who, as I agree with him, is more than likely in doggie heaven right about now.

Anyhoo, when I read the power ranking, I mostly agreed, but was stunned a bit at some of the rankings. Like, how the Beefy 5-Layer Burrito landed on #36, in which Fulton described it as an item that “caters to people who swore off vegetables because they lost a bet in middle school.”

Hey, I’m one of those people, Will! I lost my bet in high school, though. Another one that caught me off guard was the Hash Browns, which occupies place #53, the last place. Sure, it may be a straight up rip off of McDonald’s hash browns, but when cooked fresh, the Taco Bell version is kind of enjoyable.

If anything, I thought the Nacho Fries would be in last place, which, to me, are glorified seasoned fries served with a cup of Great Value nacho cheese sauce. It was, thankfully, still ranked toward the bottom, but I guess he didn’t have a much problem with the Nacho Fries as I did.

The ranking we both agree with, however, is the soft tacos, which Will ranked #1. I’ve always thought Taco Bell’s soft taco has been better than their hard-shell, and I’m glad that I’m not alone in that assessment.
