Fast food for Lent: Where to get the best fish sandwiches and snacks?
By Sandy C.
Those observing Lent are probably thinking they don’t have many options when it comes to being able to enjoy some fast food, but we’re here to share which restaurants have the best fish sandwiches and snacks.
Lent is a religious observance practiced by some Christians that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends just before Easter. During Lent, one is supposed to give up eating their favorite foods, while others also give up red meat and chicken on Fridays, but do continue to eat fish. As you can already tell, by giving up most meats, this includes most fast food options.
What can you eat without sacrificing flavor? We have several choices! Because there’s more out there than just McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish.
First up is Jack in the Box with their Fish Sandwich Combo that is only available for a limited time. You may order it a la carte or add the 100% Alaskan Pollock sandwich to Jack’s $4 deal, which includes fries and a drink. Please note: Prices may vary by location, check your local Jack in the Box for details!

Chick-fil-A also recently jumped in with a fish menu option of their own, the fried fish sandwich. The restaurant also serves fish tenders. Word is, these are delicious, and we know we can never say no to Chick-fil-A waffle fries.
Love Burger King’s fries, order the King Big Fish Sandwich! It’s 100% White Alaskan Pollock, breaded with crispy panko breading and topped with sweet tartar sauce. This and a drink in hand and you’re good to go!
Finally, we love the snacks Sonic offers! From a simple ice cream cone to mozzarella sticks and onion rings. There are many options to pick from to satisfy a craving and make you forget all about meat you’re not supposed to eat.
