The Great British Bake Off spin-off Junior Bake Off officially confirmed

The Great British Bake Off is officially getting a spin-off. It’s called Junior Bake Off and it will officially air its first season later this year.
Following the announcement that The Great British Bake Off would continue to air on the Channel 4 Network in the UK until the year 2021, a spin-off series of the popular baking show was confirmed. Junior Bake Off will air its first season later this year, a spin-off similar to the previous series which ran on the CBBC network.
According to Deadline, Junior Bake Off will run for a total of 15 episodes. A specific release date is still to be announced but it has been confirmed it will be in 2019. The Great British Bake Off is still to have an official released date announced as well, the assumption is the two shows will run around the same time, or, one after the other.

Very few details about Junior Bake Off has been released. However, comparing it to the similar series which ran on the CBBC network, it featured junior bakers aged between 7 and 12 cooking up one magnificent treat after another. It would be a fair assumption that Junior Bake Off would follow this format.

More details will no doubt follow fairly soon now that the spin-off has been officially giving the go ahead. We will keep an eye out on the details for you.
In terms of the series being aired in the US. The Great British Bake Off airs via Netflix. The latest season of the baking show appeared on the network 10 days after the finale. We’re hoping this format continues for future seasons and fingers crossed Junior Bake Off will follow suit.
