Toronto is getting a ‘Garfield’ themed restaurant
By Kareem Gantt
Toronto is getting a new restaurant based off of Garfield, and we here in the States are supremely jealous.
As if Toronto’s restaurant scene was not already one of the coolest on the planet, it’s about to get even cooler thanks, to Garfield. The lovable, lasagna-eating cat who hates Mondays.
Called GarfieldEats, the spot will serve up Garfield-shaped pizzas and other Italian specialties. According to Blog TO, GarfieldEats will take up a spot on Bloor Street, and the restaurant will be the first-of-its-kind in North America, making us here in the States really jealous.
The restaurant is being described as a “mobile restaurant,” which will use an app for orders. All deliveries will be for free, and the restaurant is also being environmentally-friendly as well, with all of GarfieldEats delivery drivers using electric scooters and the pizzas coming in environment-friendly packaging.

The people Toronto have to thank for bringing GarfieldEats to life is Nathen Mazri and Pascal Haider, who approached Jim Davis, the original Garfield cartoonist, for the rights to shape their pizzas into Garfield’s image. For Toronto residents who will be visiting the actual store, there will be no cashiers. You’ll only be able to order from the mobile phones that will be on the walls of the restaurant.

This is a cool concept that had is wondering if GarfieldEats has any plans on expanding beyond Toronto. Turns out, they do, as the pair has plans to bring GarfieldEats worldwide by 2025. For you lucky eaters in Toronto, GarfieldEats opens in April.
