Chopped Season 40, Episode 58 will leave you wishing you had a legitimate excuse to carb-load. Here is a look at the new episode.

There’s a reason all of us are obsessed with carbs in one way or another: They’re almost too good.

From your go-to veggie pizza to the impossible to turn down chocolate overloaded dessert, carbs are irresistible. Some people can give them up — mostly. Others tremble in terror at the thought of saying goodbye to such a meaningful staple in their diet.

Pasta is by far one of the most beloved dishes around. The fact that every noodle shape has a different name (spaghetti! Linguine! Fettuccine!) is more than enough proof that many of us could prepare pasta a different way every meal and probably not get sick of it. (At least, we’d try not to!)

This endless pasta craving phenomenon will be put to the test in this week’s Chopped challenge, “Pasta Possibilities.”

In this episode, every plate will include some form of pasta as part of the course, and the judges will have to decide which noodle dish is a winner and which couldn’t quite make the cut.

According to the episode synopsis:

"“Four chefs face a three-round culinary battle where pasta is found on every plate. They start off the carb-tastic competition by making pasta appetizers that include pea tendrils and a fatty, delicious fish. A common vegetable causes some surprising problems in the entree round. Finally, a huge, sweet surprise in the final basket gets the judges excited for dessert.”"

Did somebody say dessert pasta?

As usual, the dishes the four contestants come up with throughout each challenge won’t just surprise the judges. They’ll have you on the edge of your seat, really craving some pasta of your own, too.
