There’s a reason why certain fast food items should stay dead

When fast food menu items die, there’s a reason why they should stay dead. Unfortunately, some of its die-hard fans think otherwise.
A couple of months ago, I made a slideshow detailing the 25 worst fast food items of all time. Most of those items are now in fast food heaven, and there are some pretty great reasons why they are chilling out with the Fast Food God. Bad sales, bad taste, inferior product, or all three have contributed to some fast food items making it out of the test kitchen and into the restaurants, only to be ripped out for not making the grade.
Just because those fast food items were God awful, doesn’t mean that they didn’t attract some fans, and those same fans often call for their favorites to be put back on the menu board, even though they know good-and-well they should stay dead.
Business Insider recently wrote a story about these dead menu items, and why some of them should come back, and when I read it, I was horrified.

Bring back Taco Bell’s Bell Beefer? Why on earth would Taco Bell bring back a glorified sloppy joe sandwich in this day and age and think it would be a good idea. Or how about the call to bring back the KFC Double Down? Sure, it would be in KFC’s best interest to bring back a “sandwich” that was a calorie nuclear bomb waiting to explode in your arteries?
Burger King should sell ribs again? Please God, save us from these people!
Look, I’m not unsympathetic to the people who would like to see some of these menu items brought back from the fast food grave, but realize that, for the sake of the rest of us, these defunct fast food items should stay exactly where they are — in food purgatory.
