Downton Abbey fans can now feel like a royal, and maybe even drink like one too, as Highclere Castle releases their own gin.

Are you obsessed with Downton Abbey? Do you know everything there is to know about the characters and the show’s setting? Do you wish that you could have something to commemorate the show with? If the answer is yes to any or all of these questions, then have no fear as Highclere Castle (the location of the real Downton Abbey) has us all covered.

According to Delish, the people who actually reside at the castle have announced a way that we can all live or at least drink like a royal. In a release about the project, Lady Carnarvon explained that considering their home is known for throwing parties and entertaining guests with cocktails featuring gin, they have decided to offer their own.

The 8th Countess of Carnarvon said that, “We, therefore, felt that with the ever-rising interest in gin, the family’s heritage, and indeed the Carnarvon’s love of the spirit, that it was a natural step to make a gin from Highclere provenance.”

But what does this mean for Downton Abbey fans? Basically this means that the castle that is as much a character in the show as the people is officially releasing a London Dry Gin that you can add to your liquor cabinet. And that’s not all, as the ingredients used to make this premium gin can be found on the grounds of the castle.

Just like the ingredients are all local to the area, the bottle itself is glass made in England and is inspired by the shape of the castle. In terms of the shape, it is all about looking like one of the castle’s towers, while the color of the label invokes a sense of royalty and prestige.

When you consider not only the fact that the Carnarvon family has been in residence at Highclere Castle since before the United States was country, but also the fact that this is the actual manor from the hit series Downton Abbey, you can’t help but feel a bit royal with this gin in your possession.

At this time, there are only a handful of states that will be carrying the Highclere Castle Gin, however, it is available online. Among the states where you can pick up a bottle are Massachusetts, Tennessee, Connecticut, New York, Colorado, and Rhode Island. However, there are plans for a wider release, which means any of the states that did not make the initial cut will eventually offer this royal gin.

As fans of Downton Abbey, we can’t resist this particular gin, as it gives a chance to have a piece of the castle in our homes. And even if you just want it as a piece of memorabilia there is nothing wrong with that, as the bottle is truly lovely.

There are two options for snagging this elegant bottle, with the first being just the standard bottle for $40. Then there is a much more refined option that includes a custom wooden box with an ivory gloss over it reminiscent of the keys on a piano, a brass number plaque, a gold velvet bag, and one of the very first bottles of gin produced. This option is much pricier at $399, but when you consider the stunning beauty of this piece, you won’t even be upset.
