Supernatural Fans, Rejoice! A Supernatural Cookbook is Coming

Now you can make the Winchester special at home with Supernatural: The Official Cookbook.

Supernatural fans can enjoy the food that has been an intrinsic part of the cult favorite show from the comfort of their home—it was recently announced that the show will be getting its own cookbook.

Supernatural: The Official Cookbook, featuring some of Supernatural’s most-loved dishes, will be published late 2019 by Insight Editions.

The book will be written by food and travel writer, and self-confessed Castiel fan, Julie Tremaine, with food photographs by freelance photographer Jessica Torres.

On Amazon, the book is priced at US $30, but fans can pre-order the book right now on Amazon at a 30% discount. The book will be shipped to buyers from November 5, 2019.

Following 14 seasons, Supernatural will be coming to an end with its fifteenth and final season, set to premiere in fall, 2019. The cookbook will be the perfect memorabilia for fans to bid the show farewell with the Supernatural characters’ favourite food.

According to the blurb for the cookbook, the book will cater to fans with varying cooking abilities—from beginners to experts. It will feature sweets and savouries, including well-known dishes from the show, a handful of salads and, most importantly, recipes for pie.

Despite Supernatural’s existence in the horror-drama genre, food has always played an important part in the show and the characters’ lives. Dean Winchester, played by Jensen Ackles, in particular, was the source of much of the food scenes in the show.

Dean is constantly seen eating or drinking something, mostly fast food as the Winchester brothers are usually on the road. Sam Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki, the younger of the brothers, has generally been the more health-conscious of the two, though he has been known to tuck into a good burger when the opportunity arose.

Earlier this year, fans were rocked by news of Supernatural ending, and this cookbook will definitely help keep the show’s legacy alive. The show has always been about family, and nothing brings a family together better than a family cookbook with a spooky touch.
