Macaroni and cheese is more than just comfort food, it is a satisfying meal. But if you get Fried Macaroni and Cheese, it becomes an oddly satisfying appetizer thanks to The Cheesecake Factory.

Looking over the menu at The Cheesecake Factory can be a lesson in patience and perseverance, thanks to the many menu options available. But one appetizer you won’t want to miss out on is the Fried Macaroni and Cheese.

While macaroni and cheese as a standard dish can run the gamut of being a quick meal, a comfort food, or even a gourmet meal, it is almost always a winner. But when it comes to frying it up, it can be very hit or miss. Luckily at The Cheesecake Factory they have created a Fried Macaroni and Cheese appetizer that is oddly satisfying, even as it didn’t win me over right away.

As a fan of macaroni and cheese in all its forms, there was something about this fried ball of goodness that I didn’t love at first, based on the simple description offered on the menu. Simply put, once they put marinara sauce on the plate they lost me. However, I ended up giving it a try anyway and suddenly I was sold on this oddly satisfying dish that gave me ooey, gooey, cheesy goodness in a fried ball.

Honestly, this has absolutely become my favorite appetizer on the entire Cheesecake Factory menu. And while you might think it has to do with the fact that this is a fried food, the reality is that the cheesy pasta on the inside is perfection in every bite. In fact, just biting into one of these fried balls is satisfying.

From the hint of saltiness of the parmesan cheese and the zip of the marinara, even the non-essential ingredients on this dish add to the satisfaction you get with each bite. (I have ordered these with and without the marinara sauce and either way works, but with the sauce completes the dish in a way that is truly inspiring.)

I’m so obsessed with these balls of gooey goodness that even writing about them makes my mouth water. These are the ultimate treat for macaroni and cheese lovers and the fact that you get these at a restaurant known for their cheesecake seems fitting, as they clearly know what they are doing when it comes to all things cheesy deliciousness.

Ultimately, the Fried Macaroni and Cheese from Cheesecake Factory is an oddly satisfying dish that seems to hit all of the high notes, even as it leaves you wanting more.
