As far as fast food breakfasts go, McDonald’s might just have the ultimate menu of deliciousness. But with these hacks, it just gets better.

When it comes to grabbing a quick breakfast on the go, most times the first place that comes to mind is McDonald’s (at least for me). From their McMuffins to their hash browns, there is a lot to choose from that will satisfy those breakfast cravings. And the fact that they serve breakfast all day certainly helps to make them my go-to for egg loving goodness (even if I am not in the mood for eggs).

But, while I love the McDonald’s breakfast menu, there are always ways to make things better. And luckily there are some awesome hacks that will transform your breakfast selections into the ultimate delicious meal for you.

Thanks to Bustle, we have learned a few things we didn’t know before. And of course, we have our own hacks that we love and use whenever we want to switch things up. After all, just because we love the McMuffin, that doesn’t mean we want the same thing all the time.

Hack 1: Add espresso to either a chocolate or vanilla milkshake. For our first breakfast hack, we are transforming the standard milkshake from McDonald’s and turning it into a coffee lovers dream. Order a shot of espresso and a milkshake of your choice and then pour the espresso over the top. It’s basically like making your own iced coffee milkshake, and we are totally okay with this.

Hack 2: Order a side order of McGriddles. Are you obsessed with the griddle cakes that are used to make the McGriddle sandwiches? Do you find them even tastier than the standard hotcakes? If either answer if yes, you can actually get a side order of these griddle cakes without the eggs and meat filling. Throw some butter and syrup on these and you have the perfect option to replace those standard pancakes. Or, you can always add some jelly or jam to the griddle cake for a totally different taste explosion.

Hack 3: Get an Egg McMuffin with regular bacon. Typically when you order an Egg McMuffin you get a piece of Canadian bacon and while there is nothing wrong with that, sometimes you want regular bacon. And since they make regular strips of bacon, did you know you can substitute the Canadian bacon with the strips you know and love?

Hack 4: Swap the folded eggs for a round egg on your breakfast sandwiches. Have you noticed that when you order your breakfast bagel sandwich or your biscuits it doesn’t come with the round egg that you get on your McMuffin? Well you don’t have to settle for a folded egg anymore! You can totally ask for a substitution and get that rounded egg instead.

Hack 5: Channel the Taco Bell menu with hash browns and a burrito. This one is easy and delicious. Just order a sausage burrito and a hash brown. Then you will need to unwrap the burrito and stuff the hash brown inside. And there you go, you have channeled Taco Bell and done it in a way that is delicious and easy. (As a fan of the sausage burritos at McDonald’s, I am always looking at ways to change things up, and this is definitely a favorite.)

I love having fun with my breakfast. And places like McDonald’s and other fast food restaurants are a great way to try something new without much guilt or worry over the outcome.
