National Cake Day: Harry & David’s 9 lb. Colossal Cake wins the last bite

Colossal cakes. You’ve likely seen them, maybe even tried them, but no way do they compare to Harry & David’s 9 lb. Colossal Cake heaven!

Tis’ the season of throwing diets out the window. After all, a new year is ahead, we can worry about new goals and resolutions later. At the moment, it’s time to consume and indulge in all tasty things, such as Harry & David’s 9 lb. Colossal Cake.

I’ve worked on several Harry & David products this year and it’s one of my favorite brands. I already know the quality (and beautiful) presentation that goes into creating their pastries. So, while I’ve yet to sample this Colossal Cake, I’m sure it’s delicious and the flavor matches its huge size and beauty!

This holiday season, Harry & David are introducing a new, limited-edition Chocolate Mocha Yule Log, and it truly takes the cake in all contests. For starters, it weighs 9 pounds! I don’t need to tell you that this is bigger than a newborn baby. The giant cake is put together using 10 layers of moist chocolate cake and fluffy mocha buttercream. Is anyone else’s mouth watering already?

The description continues to share that it is “all rolled-up like a traditional Bûche de Noël,” and stands about 5″ tall. It is then topped and covered in smooth chocolate mocha frosting and decorated with dark chocolate pieces. And if you’re wondering if this cake is made from scratch, it definitely is, right in Harry & David’s bakery.
