Dine-in movie theater food, you either hate it or you’re lying. Why is their food so terrible? Enjoy my rant.

AMC Dine-In theaters, Studio Movie Grill, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and others, I’m calling you all out for having bad to mediocre food. While I understand and do love the convenience of dinner and a movie, the food is simply not good. I’ve tried it all, several times and locations, all sorts of dishes. Never have I enjoyed one. I dare even say I would rather order fast food.

This wouldn’t be so bad if the food wasn’t advertised as amazing. From the commercials to the photos, dine-in movie theater food is glamorized as luxurious and delicious, which only makes the disappointment worse.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a tasty movie theater snack. Nothing tops the smell and taste of buttery popcorn and movie nachos, as simple as they may be, are a-must! But even this simple and traditional snack taste different at dine-in movie theaters. Only at a regular theater can you enjoy the true taste and experience of popcorn and a cold drink.

Unfortunately, I don’t see this changing anytime soon as I don’t believe dine-in movie theaters care all that much about our opinions. They know people will continue to go no matter what. Therefore, the prices will remain high for low, low quality food.

What can you do about it? Avoid these places! Have a regular movie date at your favorite movie theater with only the usual tasty popcorn and drink! You can’t fix what isn’t broken.

The hunt continues for some great tasting food, for a complete and satisfying dinner and movie night out experience!
