Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are two more celebrities stepping up to the plate during the coronavirus outbreak, donating $1 million to food banks.

Celebrities of all stripes continue to show their goodwill during the coronavirus crisis. First, it was Stephen and Ayeesha Curry donating one million dollars to help feed Oakland school kids during an extended shutdown. Now, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are helping out during this dark time for humanity.

The Deadpool star wrote on his Twitter page that he and his wife will be donating $1 million that will be split between two charities — Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. The will to give was driven in large part by the coronavirus’ brutal assault on seniors and low-income families; the former due to the killer nature it has on the group and the latter who are suffering furloughs and layoffs due to their sector shutting down for health reasons.

In the caption underneath the Instagram post, Reynolds urged everyone to visit the respective charity accounts and donate.

Reynolds and Lively are just two of the many celebrities who have given during this trying time. Donatella Versace and her daughter, Allegra Versace, donated 200,000 euros to an intensive care unit in San Raffaele hospital in Milan, and Justin Bieber made a generous donation to support Beijing Chunmiao Children Aid Foundation during the height of the coronavirus crisis in China and Asia.

The Houston Food Bank got a boost in aid when Houston Texans’ star JJ Watt and his wife, Kealia Ohai, donated $350,000 to the charity, and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and fiance Tom Bernthal launched the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Feeding Families to make sure low-income families are fed during the coronavirus outbreak.
