Burgers: Wauconda’s Bulldog’s deserves the top prize (they’re bringing back a cult favorite to their menu)

When it comes to burgers, Wauconda, IL’s Bulldogs is the best. Come explore some of my fave’s on the menu. Plus, they plan on resurrecting one of their classics!  This place will make you want to keep coming back!

When it comes to burgers, there is one place, and one place only, that comes to mind with having some of the most delicious and unique burgers around. Bulldogs in Wauconda, IL is located in the heart of Lake County right in the middle of downtown Wauconda. From cream cheese, to chili, to fried jalapeños, and even Fritos, these burgers are topped with just about anything you can think of.

Their menu used to consist of just burgers and a few other things; however, with some recent changes to the menu, there are less burgers and more street food type of items, but skip the street food and go straight to the burgers.

Although some changes have been made, and burgers have been taken off the menu, they just recently announced that they will be bringing back a classic favorite for one of their weekly specials: the Texas Tornado Burger. This burger was a wild one and took you on so many flavor adventures that I don’t even know where to begin.

Starting with a nice juicy half-pound beef patty, this burger also supported some jalapeños, grilled onions, salsa, avocado, and fritos; of course, this burger is also topped with lettuce and tomato as well (recipe courtesy of Bulldogs Grill Facebook Page). Plus, as a little secret, if you ask them to make any past burgers, they almost always can.

Now, moving on to my personal favorite and every-time order, let’s talk about the Slap Yo’ Mama Burger. This was one of the first burgers I tried at Bulldogs, and I honestly haven’t looked back since. Courtesy of their online menu, the Slap Yo’ Mama consists of bacon, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, apple barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Holy moly….. this burger is just mouth-watering and the most delicious burger that I’ve ever tasted. It seems so simple, but there’s just something about grilled onions on a burger that really does it for me.

Everything I’ve tasted at Bulldogs, including fries, hot dogs, chili, onion rings, and more, is absolutely delicious. If you plan on heading over to Bulldogs, definitely try one of these burgers listed here.
