Baked Chips vs. Regular Chips: Which is better (tasting)?
Baked Ruffles vs. Classic Ruffles
If you compare this version of baked to its original, it’s a bit better in comparison to the Classic and Baked Lays potato chips as well. While the baked variety of Lays chips isn’t as salty as the original, the same cannot be said for the baked variety of the original Ruffles chips.
The baked variety of Ruffles is actually pretty comparable to the original version. It also isn’t as crispy and thin as the original, fried version, but the taste is still there, the ridges and ruffles are still there. All is the same, minus a little bit in the texture department of these chips at hand here.
The baked variety of Ruffles also comes in the Cheddar Ruffles flavor as well, which reminds me of the baked version of Cheetos, in that it’s basically like the original chips and very similar to them, not making you miss them too too much in all honesty.
Definitely give these chips a try (the baked version of Ruffles: cheddar or original plain). Don’t get me wrong the baked variety is good; however, I still prefer the classic ones (but will 100% eat the baked ones as well here).
Winner Here: Classic Ruffles
While we begin to wrap up here, there’s one honorable mention of a baked variety of a classic chip that exists, but probably shouldn’t: Baked Nacho Cheese Doritos. It was a good effort, but just doesn’t even come close to deserving a description for being that good, truly.
